EMBAS is expanding its range of products and services in the field of gas detection systems as the authorized distributor in Turkey for the UK-based company International Gas Detectors (IGD). As part of this new partnership, advanced gas detection technologies for industrial facilities, laboratories, and process areas are being introduced to the Turkish market with local engineering support.
Istanbul-based EMBAS combines its expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of industrial gas detection systems with IGD’s product technologies and direct technical support. Through this partnership, businesses across Turkey can access IGD’s fixed gas detection solutions with local support and technical consulting.
During the initial phase of the partnership, significant progress was made, and EMBAS supplied IGD systems to various industrial facilities in Turkey.
Early Projects and Industrial Applications in Turkey
The collaboration between EMBAS and IGD began to yield tangible results in a short period of time, from initial technical discussions to project proposals and field implementations. The first projects carried out focused on developing gas detection solutions suitable for various industrial conditions.
Fixed Gas Detection Solution for a Gas Distribution Center
One of the first projects was carried out at a gas distribution center. EMBAS supplied TOC-903-X5 fixed multi-gas detectors to meet the facility’s gas monitoring needs.
Thanks to the X5 detectors' independent controller feature, a gas detection solution was created that can communicate with the facility's Sentinel+ communication infrastructure without the need for a separate control panel.
This application was one of the first examples of collaboration aimed at configuring fixed gas detection systems to meet the needs of existing facilities.
Gas Sampling System for High-Temperature Industrial Furnaces
Another project was carried out to monitor explosive gases at the outlet of a high-temperature industrial furnace.
In this application, the high process temperature made it difficult to directly detect the gases. The EMBAS and IGD technical teams evaluated the operating conditions and developed a custom system consisting of an EMS sampling pump, a TOCSIN 903-X5 gas detector, and cooling accessories.
The use of the EMS sampling pump in conjunction with ATEX-certified detectors made it possible to analyze gas samples taken from high-temperature processes under appropriate conditions.
The system developed operates on the principle of cooling the gas sample before it reaches the detector. Thus, in this industrial application—where high temperatures and ATEX requirements are present—a specialized engineering solution was provided for monitoring explosive gases at the LEL level.
This project serves as an example of how EMBAS’s field experience and IGD’s gas detection technologies can be combined to meet various industrial needs.
Future Goals of the EMBAS and IGD Partnership
Following the completion of the first projects, EMBAS and IGD will continue their efforts to expand the use of advanced gas detection systems throughout Turkey and to develop new applications tailored to the needs of various sectors.
The next phase of the collaboration aims to increase the sharing of technical knowledge, improve product training, and strengthen coordination among engineering teams.
As part of this initiative, the EMBAS team is scheduled to visit IGD’s headquarters in the United Kingdom to conduct technical training sessions on product technologies and application areas.
Through this partnership with IGD, EMBAS will continue to provide services to industrial facilities in Turkey regarding the selection, design, installation, and technical support of gas detection systems.
