Falco Fixed VOC Gas Detection
Falco Fixed VOC Detector is offered in pumped and diffusion models.
Diffusion and pumped detector technical application differences are as follows.
Diffusion Fixed Gas Detection Detector
Diffusion gas detection device, as the name suggests, works on the principle of diffusion. The sensor is exposed to the ambient air and measures the gas with the principle of diffusion. Diffusion means that molecules spread proportionally over the available area (from high concentration to low concentration). This means that a diffusion gas detection device can only measure the gas concentration at the location where the device is located. Therefore, a Diffusion type fixed gas detection detector can only accurately detect gases that are present at a specific location.
Pumped Fixed Gas Detection Detector
Pumped detectors are equipped with a built-in sampling pump. This means that the detector continuously draws gases. A sampling hose can be connected to increase the reach. In this way, you can measure from a safe distance to learn which gases are present at which concentration before exposing them to the environment where the gas is present. This allows you to perform a proper risk analysis and make the right strategy and personal protective equipment (PPE) choices based on the measurement results. By positioning the measurement hose correctly, you can make accurate measurements at different heights and map all risks.
Ensuring that every aspect of the working environment is safe for staff to operate in is critical for industries that work with potentially harmful materials. It’s important that any kind of detection device can be relied upon even in the most challenging of weather, exposure, and temperatures, without losing accuracy. ION Science has developed the Falco fixed gas detector to meet these challenges – and exceed them.
The standard Falco, both the Pumped and Diffused models are supplied with a 10.6 eV lamp allowing the fixed instrument to detect a wide range of VOC gases. The standard fixed gas detector has 4 detection ranges available, these ranges include 0 – 10 ppm, 0 – 50 ppm, 0 – 1000 ppm and 0 – 3000 ppm.
The fixed pumped and diffused models can also utilise a 10.0 eV lamp to further detect TACs (Total Aromatic Compounds), including benzene with a detection range of 0.50 ppm. For more information contact ION Science.
